ABOUT: Bodyscape
Concrete is poured into a swimming suit to see how much concrete it can hold and how it will be shaped when given free access to the garment. Usually, it is the other way around. Swimming suits try to shape the body. The work is inspired by women walking by the water on the beach in the summertime. In some cases, it seems as their body is poured into the mold of a garment. I am curious to find out how much it is possible to stretch the garment. This pilot is the first sculpture out and it is a girl’s swimsuit. What has the greatest formative power? The body or the clothes?
